A recording of  a Bimo ritual in a Yi family.

​

Bimo is the  most knowalegable one in Yi ethnic group.  Their duty is to inherite Yi culure, including religion, philosophy, morality, history, astronomy, medical, literature.

 

In traditional Yi family, they usually ask Bimo  to hold this ritual twice a year, expecting to have a lucky year.

 

I am lucky to attend the first ritual in this year.
